About the project

MOSAIC Centre of Vocational Excellence : Future-proofing VET in Arts and Crafts.


MOSAIC brings together 15 relevant EU and non-EU partners from 7 different countries, in order to foster Excellence in Vocational Education and Training (VET) within the Arts & Crafts sector. The project aims at ensuring high quality skills that lead to quality employment and career-long opportunities, which meet the needs of an innovative, inclusive and sustainable economy.

MOSAIC also brings together stakeholders in Education, Research and Business, which still too often function in silo. It focuses on three areas within the Arts & Crafts sector: Traditional & rare crafts, Precious metals & jewellery, Furniture & Wood and their relation with Design, Arts & Industry.

The MOSAIC project will focus on three areas within Arts and Crafts sector: Traditional & rare crafts, Precious metals & jewellery, Furniture & Wood and their relation with Design, Arts & Industry.


The platform of transnational cooperation that will be set up within this coves project will bring together relevant EU and non-EU partners who want to foster Excellence in VET within the Arts & Crafts sector, ensuring high quality skills that lead to quality employment and career-long opportunities, which meet the needs of an innovative, inclusive and sustainable economy.

Objectives

The specific objectives of the project are:

To foster collaboration among all stakeholders in the Arts & Crafts VET ecosystem : companies, VET centres and higher education institutions to reach a state of mutual fertilisation

To update the initial and continuing VET provision in Arts & Crafts by delivering new training modules

To build a forward looking VET through the integration of digital methodologies and environmental sustainability

To foster Internationalisation and transnational strategies in response to the evolutions of VET and society

To improve the inclusion strategies of VET providers and facilitate the transition to the world of work in Arts & Crafts for those with fewer opportunities.

Outputs :

A network of local stakeholders comprised of VET providers and business actors, Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and local authorities that will contribute to MOSAIC with their expertise

A European Observatory on Arts & Crafts to collect and publish data on a regular basis

Training courses for learners focused on digitalisation, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability and technical skills applied to Arts & Crafts

Training courses for teachers and staff focused on social inclusion, internationalisation, and digital tools applied to training/learning

Mobility schemes for professionals in their working life

An online catalogue of blended study programmes aimed at VET and HEI and their learners.

Target groups :

Learners attending Arts & Crafts courses aligned with EQF levels 3 to 6, including the ones with fewer opportunities

Adults, including VET and Higher Education Teachers

VET Centres’ staff

Arts & Crafts professionals and local stakeholders connected to the sector
