Projects Internationalisation & Mobility

Learning mobility

Internationalisation opens doors to global opportunities for students and educators. Through partnerships and mobility programmes, SEPR equips learners with the skills, intercultural awareness, and experience needed to thrive in an interconnected world

Internationalisation at SEPR

International engagement has been a core value of SEPR since its foundation. Its founder, François-Barthélémy Arlès-Dufour—a prominent Lyon silk merchant—was already a strong advocate of international cooperation and free trade in 1864.

A holder of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and VET since 2007, SEPR has developed a robust and structured international strategy over the past 30 years. The international dimension is a true catalyst for innovation and growth, enabling the institution to:

  • Facilitate student and staff mobility
  • Engage in collaborative projects with international partners
  • Strengthen skills in areas such as digital integration in teaching, social inclusion, and internationalisation at home

Through these initiatives, SEPR continues to promote intercultural dialogue, professional development, and global citizenship among its learners and staff.

Internationalisation activities

Learning Group mobility

•  Short-term reciprocal learning mobility: SEPR facilitates short-term mobility by sending groups of learners to partner institutions for training programs. Simultaneously, it hosts students from those same partner schools, fostering a genuine cultural and professional exchange.

•  Short-term traineeship: SEPR also offers learners the opportunity to complete short-term internships with companies abroad, enhancing their professional experience in an international context.

Learning Individual Mobility

•  Exchange semester with partner institutions: In the context of Higher Education, SEPR students have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at one of our partner institutions. At the same time, SEPR welcomes international students for a study semester, promoting mutual academic and cultural enrichment.

•  Short and long-term internships: In addition to group mobility, individual SEPR students can apply for internships abroad—either short- or long-term—provided they meet the requirements of their training programs. These internships offer valuable hands-on experience in an international professional environment.

Staff mobility

SEPR strongly believes that international experiences should also be accessible to its staff, contributing to both personal growth and professional development. Staff members are encouraged to take part in a variety of international mobility opportunities, including:

•  Job Shadowing: observing and learning from peers in partner institutions abroad
•  Teaching or Training Assignments: sharing expertise or gaining new skills in an international context
•  Courses and Professional Training: participating in structured learning activities to enhance competencies

These experiences support continuous development and help embed an international perspective across SEPR’s educational practices.

International Designers Week

This annual international workshop is hosted by SEPR and brings together students enrolled in the EQF Level 6 program, the National Diploma in Design, Arts and Crafts as well as international designers specializing in jewellery design, digital design, and woodworking, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and creative exchange.

Erasmus + Programme

SEPR holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and VET and has built a solid international strategy over the past 30 years. Internationalisation is at the heart of SEPR’s development, acting as a powerful engine for innovation and growth.

Through its global partnerships and mobility programmes, SEPR is committed to:
•  Supporting student and staff mobility across Europe and beyond
•  Participating in collaborative international projects
•  Enhancing expertise in key areas such as digital learning, social inclusion, and internationalisation at home

This international outlook enriches the learning environment and prepares both learners and staff to thrive in a connected, multicultural world.
