Placement in a foreign country
A placement in a foreign country can be a very enriching first work experience for students, providing them benefits ranging from language proficiency to global networking, including personal growth or cultural enrichment and the development of soft skills such as adaptability, self-confidence, autonomy and maturity.
At SEPR International, we’re delighted to work with you and tailor our services to meet the specific educational requirements of your school and the different students’ professional fields.
At SEPR International, we find the company that best suits the trainee profile which aims at developing his employability.
What does it mean to be a host company?
The host companies host students for a certain period of time who carry out a professional internship under the guidance of a company manager, guiding them in their training process.
Erasmus+ Programme Initiative
The European Commission, through the Erasmus+ programme funds, provides grants to the best vocational schools in EU member states and other partner countries for their students to undertake work placements in companies across Europe
Practical aspects of the Erasmus+ internship :
- 100% European funding
- Zero cost for the host company
- VET students awarded Erasmus+ scholarships
- Duration between 4 and 6 weeks
- Between 30-35 hours per week
How does it work?
SEPR International is in charge of the management of Erasmus+ VET placements, acting as an intermediary between the VET school and the companies tutoring the students.
We coordinate all the steps required to ensure the success of the mobility, such as accommodation management, transport, cultural activities and an individualised follow-up during the whole process. In this way, we facilitate the creation of lasting connections between the beneficiaries of these scholarships and local businesses.
Role of SEPR International
SEPR International connects Erasmus+ students with local companies. We take care of the logistical management of the project (mentoring, accommodation, meals, local transport, weekly scholarship for students), assigning our own coordinator who carries out regular evaluations with the student, managing the official documentation and taking out medical assistance, civil liability and accident insurance.
How to become a Host Company ?
In this European and global context, becoming a Host Company represents a vision for the present and the future. Join us to promote, with the support and experience that SEPR International provides, the growth of the Rhone Alps business network, while contributing to the social and educational benefit of the young people from all over Europe that we host every year in Lyon.
Role of the Host Company
The company is in charge of tutoring the development of the students’ internships, ensuring that they are aligned with their training objectives.
Students will carry out tasks related to their professional speciality and will be supervised by a tutor assigned by the company who will plan and monitor the student’s work on a day-to-day basis.
Knowing the time rules
Students are expected to work between 30 and 35 hours per week, divided into 6 to 7 hours per day. Practice times will be between 7:00 and 21:00, with continuous or split shifts. The aim is for the student to travel in complete safety.
At weekends, it is common for students to take part in leisure activities and cultural visits, so the periods and times of placements will be established prior to the start of the placements. In this way, we will be able to achieve greater planning and organisation.
For companies that have different conditions (closure of the shop, activity to be carried out, specific timetables, etc.), these particular cases will be assessed so that both companies and students obtain the greatest possible benefit.
01. Commitment
It is crucial that companies understand their role in the training process of the students they receive in their facilities. Within our programme, our companies are committed to outlining the specific stages of each student’s training pathway, thus ensuring that the tasks they carry out in the company have a clear and defined purpose that meets the needs of the students.
02. Monitoring
In addition, the companies designate a person in charge who supervises the student during his or her period of non-work experience. This supervisor is in charge of ensuring the relevance of the tasks and their proper fulfilment, evaluating the performance of the trainee during his/her stay in the company, validating the competences acquired throughout the process and being the closest point of contact in case of questions or conflicts.
03. Collaboration
Companies participating in Erasmus+ projects undertake to collaborate in the creation of the internship plan and to complete the necessary documents for the international validation of the internship, always with the support of SEPR International.
What administrative procedures are involved?
The Erasmus+ programme requires the signature of a number of official documents in order to guarantee that mobilisation has been carried out properly.
